Apple has just unveiled its financial results for the second quarter of the year, and the least we can say is that they are half-hearted on hardware, and excellent on services. The AirPods, they, continue to generate a sustained demand. Tim Cook quipped at the announcement of the results, explaining that they had become "nothing less than a cultural phenomenon" - having recently been the subject of viral memes. The company's managers suggest that the wearable figures for the end-of-year period would have been significantly better if the AirPods were not regularly out of stock.
