YouTube deploys Picture-in-Picture mode for all, download APK

YouTube now offers Picture-in-Picture mode to users who do not have a Premium account. Previously, the feature was not available without paying outside of the United States. Handy, it allows you to watch videos on your smartphone while doing another activity. Deployment is going on outside USA, you can start checking if you already have it right or not.

The YouTube user experience can be pretty frustrating on mobile. If you're not a YouTube Premium subscriber, you're missing many features and the app turns out to be pretty basic. But good news, a new option now comes for all users, even who do not pay: it is Picture-in-Picture (PiP) mode.

YouTube: no need for premium account for Picture-in-Picture mode

The PiP is handy and allows you to watch a video while performing another activity on your smartphone next door. It has been around for a long time on YouTube because it was available with the Red subscription now gone. Google then rolled out the feature to free users in the US in mid-2018 and then to its new payload around the world.

It seems that the Mountain View firm unlocks the Picture-in-Picture for the moment, so it's up to everyone to check if the option is available on their smartphone. You can download or update your YouTube app via one of the links below. Be aware that you can enable or disable the feature from the general settings of the app. Feel free to let us know in the comments if you are one of the lucky ones who are already entitled to the PiP without a Premium account.
