Nintendo Switch firmware 8.0.0: update available, here are the news

The Nintendo Switch has a firmware update 8.0.0 with a lot of new features. For example, we can now sort the games and application on the home page, 15 new avatars are appearing, as well as new accessibility options, among other features. Here are all the details.

In addition to that, there's a new accessibility feature to zoom in, new icons from Splatoon 2 and Yoshi's Crafted World, and an option to prevent the console from hibernating itself on battery power.

    A software sorting feature is available after selecting All Software from the Home menu
        This option is displayed when there are 13 or more software icons on the Home menu
        You can sort the software by recent game, total game time, title, and editor
    The View all available news option allows you to see all the news available in News
    15 new user avatars from Splatoon 2 and Yoshi's Crafted World games
    New Backup Data Transfer feature for, as the name implies, transfer your backup data from one console to another (data does not remain on the source console)
    New Zoom accessibility feature in the Console Settings (activates by pressing the Home button twice)
    New option to prevent the console from going out of sleep when on battery
    New Parental Control option to restrict VR mode
    Compatibility with new regions Hong Kong / Taiwan / South Korea
    Minor changes to some feature names (only in English)

How to update your Nintendo Switch


Normally, the console should automatically offer you this update as soon as it is connected to the internet. You can also go to Settings> System> System Update to start the update manually.
