At CES 2019, we discover a little everything and anything. And sometimes, one wonders if certain innovations are not the result of a bet lost during an evening too watered. Kohler, a specialist in connected home devices (Kohler Konnect), made a name for himself at the Las Vegas show. As reported by our fellow Techcrunch, Kohler unveiled a rather unexpected object: connected toilets dubbed Numi 2.0.
Connected toilets, what's the point?
We knew Japanese toilets, very advanced and especially very hygienic. It was unknown that some companies were already dreaming of the "gogues" of the future. But what more do they have these Kohler toilets?
These are primarily Japanese toilets with all that implies (washing, rinsing, you do not do drawing). But for added comfort, Kohler has integrated a heated seat (yes yes) and a system of dynamic lights to enjoy a zen atmosphere. If you need discretion, the built-in speakers will allow you to stream some music. All in a futuristic design, obviously.
Alexa, come with me to the bathroom!
As if that was not enough, Kohler integrated Alexa, the voice assistant of Amazon. It allows to control several connected objects in the bathroom (if however your toilets are in the bathroom). You can for example start a bath, change the lights, put music etc. Or, you can simply ask Alexa to chat with you.
For the moment, no price has been announced. Besides, we do not know if this product will be marketed one day. If it is mass-produced one day, it will end a cliché that has a hard tooth: girls will not be the only ones to go to the bathroom together.
