Google Camera 6.2 brings many new features. The first, and probably the most awaited of all, is the arrival of a real dark mode. The photo application has always used dark colors in the shooting screens. But as soon as the user went into the Settings pages, he found himself greeted by a real burn of the retina - we barely exaggerate. In other words pages with a lot of white color, very relaxing for the eyes and that give this unpleasant impression of breaking the aesthetic unity of the application.
Google Camera 6.2 updates: what's new and how to download the APK
Now the Settings pages are painted a very dark gray (# 111111), which does not completely extinguish the pixels on OLED screens, but to the merit of being more pleasant. It is besides this very dark hue without being quite black that Google tends to use in all the dark modes of its applications. According to Android Police, this dark mode requires the 6.2 version of the application on Android smartphones Q - but it also seems to work under Android Pie. In Android Q, you need to enable system-level dark mode so that all apps - including Google Photo Camera - change to dark gray anthracite.
The other novelty is the arrival of new animated transitions in the application. These transitions appear when the user selects another sensor or changes the shooting mode. Previously, without these transitions, the screen briefly went dark. One must be very careful to notice the last change: a new logo in the form of flash appears on the screen when it acts as a flash selfie by becoming white / sepia when shooting.
To take advantage of these new features, you have to, we told you, Google Camera 6.2. The update is being pushed to the Google Play Store - if it's not available to you, you can also download its APK directly via APK Mirror:
