Google has confirmed to The Verge to be massively deploying its Duplex service to users on both Android and iOS. Until now, only owners of a Pixel smartphone could benefit. After this first wave which lasted about 4 months, the American group is finally ready to take the next step.
Google Duplex: when Google Assistant really acts as an assistant
As a reminder, almost a year ago, at its I/O conference, the Mountain View company presented Google Duplex for the first time. This is an automated call feature that allows you to not have to speak on the phone to order a service. For example, with Duplex Google Assistant can call your hairdresser to make an appointment. It is possible by this means to reserve a table at the restaurant, and many other practical applications.
In other words, Google Assistant has never worn his name as well. All you need to do is to inform him by means of a short discussion all the necessary information (date, time, confirmation that the AI is authorized to inform your telephone number at the establishment ...) and he takes care of everything. Once he has called the professional in question, he then returns to you to confirm the reservation.
For now, Google Duplex is available in the United States. It should happen in the coming months in other English-speaking countries.
