We told you earlier this year that Huawei will launch a TV in 2019, it seems to materialize. According to the Chinese media Jiemian, which relies on the words of a cadre of a supplier of the group, the manufacturer will launch its first television in April. Probably in China at first, then internationally, as has often been the case for its products in the past (it is less and less true).
Huawei: a TV with two cameras?
The source evokes a particular television, which would potentially be more a hub with the arrival of products related to the video game as well as endowed with social features. In short, we will not deal with a simple screen, we can expect additional options. It remains to be seen whether these will really be used for the general public.
The report also states that two cameras would be integrated into the TV. These could especially be used for video discussions by going directly through the TV, and no longer by a smartphone, a PC, or even a connected speaker. Again, it will be interesting to gauge the reaction of the public to such a proposal: does it really meet a consumer need?
In any case, we are eager to see what is capable on the TV sector. As a reminder, OnePlus should launch a Smart TV 4K this year. Will Chinese manufacturers succeed in dethroning the LG, Sony and Samsung in this market as they have managed to do with smartphones? Will they be able to break prices again? We'll know soon.
