This was discovered by Reddit users, who confirmed that Microsoft continues to receive records from Windows 10 users. The operating system provides an option under Settings> Privacy> Activity log called "Send my activity log to Microsoft".
Disabling this option is not useless by itself, and does not even help the item under the "Delete Activity Log", where you can continue to access the Microsoft account and log the activity even after deleting from the computer.
Therefore, Microsoft should be more transparent about the type of information it collects, how to aggregate it, and properly inform its users that the Deactivate registry option does nothing to protect their privacy. There will be many users who believe that disabling this option will be secure.
