Two men were arrested, according to eyewitnesses, who stole the smartphone of a woman in the street at gunpoint in northwest Miami Dade, then returned it when they realized it was not an iPhone.

According to local media reports, two men in the Miami area detained a woman at gunpoint to give her a phone. However, later the duo returned the phone because it was not for iPhone. 7 News cited some witnesses who said they heard the sound of the gun at the scene in an alley near a gas station. However, the same witness said the robbers had re-installed the phone because it was an Android device.

Regardless of the illegal nature of the crime in general, stealing iPhones is not a good idea because of Apple's encryption and security mechanisms that prevent the stolen phone from being used by the ICQ account. However, it seems to be not enough to discourage iPhone theft cases in the country.
