The Galaxy S10 5G is as good in photography as the Huawei P30 Pro, announces DxoMark

The Galaxy S10 5G has managed to shade the Huawei P30 Pro, the current king of the photo. After a thorough test, DxoMark decided to give the smartphone a score of 112 points. He finds himself in a tie with the Chinese flagship. The two rivals share the top spot in the standings and outpace the rest of the competition.

Not surprisingly, the Huawei P30 Pro was elected king of the photo as soon as it was released by DxoMark. He succeeds the amazing P20 Pro. From today, the flagship will have to share its throne with the Galaxy S10 5G, which also benefits from a quadruple photo sensor in the back. The high-end smartphone gets the overall rating of 112 points, like the P30 Pro. The lead pair is followed by the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and the Galaxy S10 +, both of which have a rating of 109. "The Galaxy S10 5G is slightly more convincing than the excellent S10 +," said DxoMark.

The terminal gained many points on the video, thanks to its "4K resolution by default". "This is the first smartphone to score 100 points for video," says the test. It's even better than the P30 Pro on that side. The Chinese flagship has indeed received a score of 97 points.

In the photo, the S10 5G is slightly below its rival with a score of 117, against 119 for the P30 Pro. DxoMark praises its "accurate white balance and nice color rendering," its "fast and efficient autofocus," good exposure, a successful bokeh effect, and excellent detail retention. The laboratory, however, regrets the "loss of detail during a long-distance zoom" and a "lack of contrast" under certain conditions.

On the selfies side, Samsung's smartphone completely explodes the Huawei P30 Pro. The S10 5G inherits the note of 97 points, against 89 for the P30 Pro.
