"Scientists have discovered that plants use their roots to send signals to neighboring plants," says Google in a quirky supplement blog post. Through Tulip, the company wants to allow plants, including tulips, to warn you when they need light or just a little more space.

"Tulips are great listeners and give good advice," says Google. This is why the net giant claims to have developed Tulip in the Netherlands, a country famous for its tulips. In collaboration with the University of Wageningen & Research (which really exists), the Mountain View firm has created the Tulipish ... the language of the tulips.

This language has been integrated into the Google Assistant under the name "Tulip Translator". The intelligent voice assistant proposes to translate the language of the tulips. To take advantage, you must use Google Assistant in English. As a reminder, Google Assistant is bilingual. So you can use two languages simultaneously: English and French for example.

To activate the translator, then ask the assistant by asking "Talk to Tulip Translator" or "Talk to my tulip". The assistant will then send you the requests of your tulip. She can ask you for fresh compost, a drop of fresh water or ... to spend her favorite song. If the basic idea is funny enough, the interaction turns quickly round. The "Tulip Translator" is available on your Google Home or on your Android smartphone. What do you think about this idea ? Was the April fool of Google in 2018 more successful?
