The iPad Pro is returning more and more to the center of attention for various problems encountered by users. A few months after the controversy of twisted chassis and that of the appearance of a white spot on the screen of iPad Pro 2017, it is now another problem that makes customers react. The touch screen is becoming insensitive and recurrent and this concerns all models of iPad Pro 2017 and 2018. Even if the versions of last year seem to be more affected than those of 2017.
iPad Pro: a growing number of users complain about the touch screen
It is the multiplication of messages posted on the forum of Macrumors which alerted the administrators of the site. And when we take a look at the Apple Support Forum, several messages also mention problems with responsiveness of the touch screen.
"I bought a new iPad Pro 12.9" last Wednesday. The keys o, k, the decimal point and to a lesser extent, the keys i and j of the virtual keyboard are always recognized by touch with a beep and the color change, but the letter often does not appear in any program. It often took several attempts to see the letter appear.
Other similar complaints have been posted on the forums. The user mentioned above claims to have returned his iPad Pro 2018 to the SAV and retrieved a new model with which he faced the same problems. For the moment, it is impossible to say whether these concerns stem from a software or hardware problem, but the evidence suggests that this is the first hypothesis.
Indeed, as you can see in the video at the end of the article and as explained by the complainant in the message mentioned above, the change of color in the virtual keyboard when the letters are pressed shows that the gesture the user is recognized. However, the letter does not appear on the screen.
The fact that the screen intermittently freezes also indicates that the problem probably does not come from a hardware fault. The official explanation of Apple is still expected.
