Mate X: Huawei will only market 300,000 copies

According to Chinese media PCPop, Huawei intends to produce up to 100,000 Mate X for the first launch phase. The foldable smartphone will go on sale in the month of July 2019 all over the world. For now, the manufacturer would be busy testing the durability and robustness of its foldable screens, fearing a failure way Galaxy Fold, whose exit was pushed back in the emergency.

Huawei will launch the Mate X in a very limited edition in July 2019

In total, Huawei should offer only 300,000 Mate X on the market. This is a very limited edition. As a reminder, the Huawei Mate X will be sold at a starting price of $ 2299. It is not a smartphone for the general public. The brand strategy remains consistent. There is no point in flooding the market with thousands of copies.

Samsung's strategy with its Galaxy Fold is exactly the same. There is no question of making it a consumer product, but rather a luxury product, light years away from a Galaxy S10 for example. The foldable smartphone will not be displayed in all stores. The manufacturer should still produce a minimum of 700,000 units for the launch, the final date has not been announced.

For the moment, Huawei has not announced whether the Mate X will be offered with subscription to operators or whether it will be marketed in major retailers, such as FNAC. We tell you more about the launch of Mate X as soon as possible.
