Mandatory selfies for Amazon delivery agents

In order to confirm the identity of Amazon delivery personnel making deliveries with their personal vehicles, Amazon implements self-check verification. An identity thus confirmed thanks to the facial recognition, the app with which is taken the selfie is the "Amazon Flex", an app therefore reserved for the deliverymen but which reminds them all the same not to take pictures when driving .

The biometric data collected by the application are sent to servers where the verification of the identity is thus done. This new method was mainly applied in order to prevent account holders from sharing with outsiders not employed by Amazon, which probably should have been the case before. The deliverymen take this picture of themselves, signs the delivery and then presents it to the customer who can therefore check if the delivery person is the same person as in the picture.

Nevertheless, this system is far from foolproof. Uber uses a similar facial recognition system and last year, transgendered delivery men would have been denied their checks, precisely because of their transition from one sex to another and the physical changes involved.
