The report revealed that in 2016 Facebook has settled a lawsuit filed by a group of parents of some children, who cheated on Facebook and spent money to buy some of the default elements in their favorite games on the site.
After that, Facebook demanded that the lawsuit be kept confidential and not available to the public so as not to harm its reputation, especially as these papers proved Facebook refused to return the money spent by the affected parents, preferring to enter into judicial disputes with them.

However, Reveal succeeded in pressuring the court to claim that these papers were in the public interest. The court responded to the request and allowed access to 135 case files where the hacker sought by Facebook was hiding.
